Editorial Policy
Editorial Policy
Cowlins exists to help farmers, students, and curious readers make sense of cattle farming, veterinary care, and livestock management. This policy explains how we create, review, and maintain our content.
Our Editorial Principles
- Accuracy first. Every guide is researched against credible agricultural and veterinary sources, and reviewed for factual accuracy before publishing.
- Independence. Editorial content is never influenced by advertisers, sponsors, or affiliate partners. Sponsored content is always clearly labeled per our Affiliate Disclosure.
- Clarity over jargon. Farming and veterinary topics can be technical — we aim to explain them clearly without oversimplifying.
- Regional awareness. Where practices, regulations, or breed availability vary by region, we try to note that rather than assume a single global standard.
Content Development Process
- Topics are researched using published agricultural science, veterinary literature, extension service resources, and input from practitioners.
- Draft articles go through an editorial review for accuracy, clarity, and completeness.
- Where relevant, content is reviewed by someone with subject-matter background (e.g. a veterinarian for animal health topics).
- Published articles are periodically revisited and updated as practices or regulations change.
Corrections
We take corrections seriously. See our Fact-Checking Policy for how to report an error and how we handle corrections.
Authorship
All articles are attributed to an author. Learn more about our contributors on the Our Authors page.
